In the Walloon region of Belgium, lies the beautiful city of SPA. The name of this city has become a synonym of "health resort" or "place with thermal baths" since the 17th century. Already the Romans had discovered the benefits of this watery place, when they invaded Belgium. The Romans found a hot spring where they like to refresh themselves after every battle, they felt as if re-born. Therefore they called the hot spring "Santé Per Aqua" (Latin for Health by Water), acronym: SPA.

Since that time, the city of SPA became more and more famous and started to attract a lot of people who visited the place to use the water for their health benefits. Soon, SPA became known as "the Café of Europe".
